WindParks are located in areas of sustainable wind resources.

After intense competition, Freedom Wind Energy LLC , a Pennsylvania based wind park developer, was selected by the Cambria County Conservation and Recreation Authority to develop a wind park at its recently purchased 6000 acre former coal strip mine. Freedom Wind Energy has designed a 100 MW windpark to be built in conjunction with Cambria County's mega-sized ATV Park. This is the first private-public partnership turning a former polluting coal mine into a new Green Zone for clean renewable energy and recreation.

For this project, one of the largest east of the Mississippi River, Freedom Wind Energy will generate enough clean wind electricity to power 35,000 homes.
